Motivations differ depending on our age, our personality, our interests, and our backgrounds/experiences. Just a few reasons to volunteer are:
According to the 2006 US Department of Labor study, Volunteering in the United States, 61.2 million Americans volunteered in some capacity last year. According to the Independent Sector (2006), the estimated dollar value of this volunteer time is $18.77 per hour.
